Community Theatre Play Productions

We create and perform community plays in the form of street plays, theatre–in-the-circle and interactive performances for the community. (i.e. in community spaces, halls and courtyards)
About Community Theatre: Community theatre takes theatre to a much broader plane. The accent here is on free expression.  Theatrical space and license are used for such diverse things as community education, teaching-learning, training and orientation of personnel, creative thinking and decision-making, behavioral therapy, as well as, for theatrical expression in the form of a play production.
Every new production is evolved in a Community Theatre Workshop. The involvement of the participants in the construction of the scripts is the distinctive feature of this form. They come up with themes, stories, ideas, songs and jokes. The facilitators are instrumental first in coaxing them into explorations within themselves and latter in sequencing and contextualizing the images and scenarios that are generously produced during the improvisations, into scripts to be performed.
This part of the process is where we deliberate on the point at which the so called `issues’ concerning ecology, women, children… touch us.  The process of Community Theatre makes it possible to bring about a radical change in our perceptions and paradigms. This process, then is translated into the concrete shape of a play production to be performed before the public.
