Our History



We have been working in the tricity (Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali) for many years (since 1990).
Time-line:
1989 – till date - Community Theatre. CEVA Drama Company - a Community Theatre repertory has been performing in and around Chandigarh, Haryana and Punjab, in theatre halls, streets and market places, schools and colleges, parks and melas, National and International theatre festivals.
1990 – 1995 – Participated in the yearly journey of 10 days each year, through trouble torn Punjab with “Bal Preet Milni - KAFLA” a widely popular movement in which prominent writers and artists, publishers including the National Book Trust (NBT), social activists and lots of children, moved together to bring books, theatre and drama, films and art works, to the villages and towns of Punjab to resuscitate the spirit of the people.
1996 – till date 
Initiation of CEVA’s Community Outreach Program - CEVA has been    organizing ‘Friends of Children Corners’ for a number of years in different spaces in the city of Chandigarh, on a regular basis.
1994 – 2007  
Conducted Community Theatre Workshops with school children under the project “Strengthening Art, Culture and Values in Education” under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, GOI, New Delhi.
1997 – 1998  
Participated in several initiatives under the District Primary Education Program (DPEP) in Haryana.
2000 – 2006 
    As a part of a global movement initiated by International Council of       
   Association for Science Educators under the project entitled “Project 
   2000”, to    revitalize and reform science education, CEVA together with   
    UNESCO, Delhi  University and Department of Science and Technology, GOI,
    organized  learning experiences in science for school teachers, parents and
    other people  who work with children and young people, especially in the  
    creative field.
2000 - till date
                      The CEVA Resource Centre  
2008 – till date 
   An effort to work with education institutions that want to institute deep change        
   processes in their organisations, CEVA’s School Support Program, was    

   initiated in 2008. Today we are working with several schools and the Rayat  &
   Bahra College of Education, Punjab facilitating long term as well as short  term
   engagements.
