The Thinker’s Hub

“Laraaoge dimaag to millenge jawab; ratte se hogi bhaiya haalat kharaab”  (Using your brain will give you the answers, whereas mere mugging up will only make you go mad)
Like the ‘Friends of children’s corner’, “The Thinkers Hub” is a created space (like a travelling mela) that can be set up at different  kinds of spaces – public and otherwise and specially in schools and colleges.
A few tables and chairs, a gaggle of facilitators and some ‘stuff’ like games, cards, videos, puzzles, mind twisters, thought starter quizes...and we are ready for a ‘thinkful’ time of our lives.
Thinking is in! In recent years there has been growing interest across the world in ways of developing children’s thinking and learning skills. This interest has been fed by new knowledge about how the brain works and how people learn, and the evidence of successful efforts across the world, that specific interventions can improve children’s thinking and intelligence.
That is what we aim to do at “The Thinker’s Hub”. Here, the focus is at the task of ‘practicing thinking’ in the context of school subjects.
Facilitators trained in the art of interactive, inquiry based teaching are there to help them to make sense of their learning through a conscious process of higher order thinking, linking it to what the participants have learnt from their life experiences; challenging them to go deeper.
